How To Plant Florida Tropical Plants In A Glasshouse

Equatorial conditions are hot and the plants that grow in the areas cannot survive in the cold areas. For people who live the cool regions and have interest in growing equatorial vegetation, they are forced to have them under a hothouse. The house provides conditions almost similar to the ones Florida tropical plants have in their natural habitat.

The green house is suitable because it offers a regulated environment where the plants can grow with ease. The structure is simple to build and not expensive to maintain. The first thing even before planting is get to know the optimum growth condition of each plant one intends to grow. This will help them rule out those that will not survive or will be hard to grow. Study conditions such as plant temperature, humidity, and light needs.

Growing them in a glasshouse is tricky as the temperature and the air must be regularly monitored. Pay special focus on the room temperature and the air circulation, the better the circulation, the fewer molds will grow in there. At first, it will be difficult but with a little determination, it will be possible to regulate all the conditions. Keep in mind that the temperature should be between 65-85 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 40 degrees.

Another trick that encourages proper growth of the plant is good penetration of light. The intake of the light by such plant is different. Some need the direct light while others need artificial light. Before selecting a plant to grow, you need to do some homework to get to know the lighting conditions of what to keep in the house. Once you are sure about these conditions, choose a combination that will suit your glasshouse.

Get to know watering patterns of the plant. For them to grow successfully, they must be watered at regular times. Research on how much each plant needs each day since lack of water will strain the growth. Also, keep in mind the room temperature and how they influence the evaporation of moisture in the room. High temperatures mean that they plants must be regularly watered.

The structure should be well planned not hinder any growth or movement. Plants such as banana trees need a large space to spread their roots and leaves. In addition, you need to move with ease while inside. Avoid crowding the house so you can have the best conditions in there.

Cleanliness and disease control go hand in hand. Dead plants bring about most diseases. You must regularly clean the place so that it cannot be infested with different types of diseases. Uproot the dead plants and trim of the withering ones. Once you notice a plant is affected by disease, uproot it so that it does not spread to the others.
