There are several therapy styles developed to handle the many disorders that have been identified to date. Many of these have unstable conduct that is triggered by just about anything. A prominent scientist named Marsha M. Linehan developed it. It has now become a mainstream approach in dealing with borderline personality disorders and other mental ones as well in New York City.

Research done has continuously proved the effectiveness of dialectical behavior therapy. It helps patients cope with their disorder. These include substance abuse, anger, psychiatric hospitalization, abuse of substances and having suicidal habits. If followed correctly, it can be effective and highly efficient.
