The test is aimed at ensuring that drivers of commercial vehicles are in good physical health. Again, those who have eye problems should have their contact lenses or glasses during the examination. The test should ascertain that the applicant can drive without difficulty.

Those who are on schedule one drugs are not allowed to take the test. These are illegal drugs such as LSD, Heroin, and cocaine. These drugs have no medical value and have a high potential for abuse and can easily change the behavior of the user.

The medical history of the applicant is also examined. This is to establish if they have any organic, mental, functional, or nervous disease or psychiatric disorder that could affect their ability to operate commercial vehicles. Individuals with such conditions cannot be licensed.
