Introducing New FDA Approved Laser For Pain

By Sandra Cole

When it comes to overcoming painful joints, it can often be difficult to find the right treatment option. In most cases, individuals end up taking harsh narcotics and receiving painful injections either of which can become addictive. Now that there is a new FDA Approved Laser For Pain, this may no longer be the case.

When researchers ran studies on test subjects and placebos, results showed that this new laser light based product was more effective than placebos with regards to eliminating discomfort. As a result, the NHN product also received designation as a NHN non-heat, non-thermal based device.

Light amplification and other light sources are used to emit monochromatic radiation which is coherent and collimated. By emitting energy through wavelengths and other infrared sources, a non-heated and non-thermal treatment is used to relieve pain without topical heating. The new and technology goes beyond pain relief. For, since there is no heat source such as found in heating pads, there is also a reduction in risk associated with fire or severe burns to the body as can occur with heating pads and similar products.

There are a number of similar laser and light based pain relieving products for sale around the world. While this is the case, very few have received approval in the United States or other countries. For, most have never been tested for safety or effectiveness. As such, these products can not be designated as non-heated or non-thermal such as this new light based laser device.

Companies most often avoid undergoing the necessary steps for FDA approval due to the rigorous cost and time it takes to do so. For, there are a number of studies required which require reporting results to a number of organizations. After which, the product must then undergo more series of tests related to safety and effectiveness before receiving such approval.

Unlike most companies which obtain these products from mass producers, multi radiance super pulsed lasers are often produced using new and innovative technologies in which direct light energies are aimed at tissue to increase circulation and relieve discomfort. In doing so, the light provides wavelengths which result in better absorption and deeper penetration to relieve discomfort.

During these research studies, researchers worked with eighty six individuals to determine how light therapies such as phototherapies and others effected non-specific painful areas in the knee. Results associated with twelve individuals showed that the therapies were effective in easing and at times eliminating pain. After which, those twelve individuals were re-assessed during a one month follow up with researchers.

Having discovered that the pain had significantly decreased among most of the individuals involved in the study, researchers were hopeful that FDA approval would be granted. Then, after additional studies showed that the success rate of this new laser light based therapy for pain in the shower and neck was more successful than others, the United States Food and Drug Administration was quick to grant approval. For, in doing so, the organization believed this new treatment would eliminate the need for harsh narcotics and help end what has been becoming an opioid crisis over the last few years in the United States.
